Paul's SkyDive

He flies through the air with the greatest of ease!

Our friend Paul Johnson has been giving service to the EG community as a member of EG Lions for decades, and is a very familiar face around town. Although no longer in the first flush of youth, Paul will very soon be doing something that most of us would only dare to dream of, and which Paul has never done before…

Yes, for some reason Paul will be abandoning a perfectly serviceable and airworthy plane whilst several thousand feet up in the sky at Headcorn with nothing but a pack strapped to his back, and a burly instructor attached by a line, as he tumbles through the sky with the air howling past his ears, finally reaching the point at which he'll pull the ripcord and, like thistledown, drift gently - well, relatively gently - back down to terra firma.

The purpose of the jump is to raise funds for the amazing Duckyls Farm, where Paul lives, jumping alongside other Duckyls' residents for the benefit of all.

EG Lions are delighted to be able to support Paul in his extraordinary adventure and hopefully to persuade others to do so as well. We already support Duckyls, and have recently provided farm grade polytunnels for the improved production of fruit and vegetables, for the kitchen and for sale, by the residents team there.

The jump will take place in September, at Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent. We will be shadowing Paul over the next two months and keeping you in touch with any developments. Bookmark this page for updates as we post them, and watch out for the next post where we chat with Paul about how this came about and how he feels.
